“Potremmo definire i MINDANCE gli Hawkwind del Molise (con echi Pinkfloydiani…), tracciando coordinate di prog-psichedelia e space-rock, un riferimento di spessore, importante anche perchè poco frequentato in Italia. Ma c’è anche altro nella band di Campobasso, un background eterogeneo e un percorso che è anche originalità e lo stratificare di sonorità diverse alla ricerca di una propria identità.

“Cosmically nothing” è dunque il manifesto migliore (e visionario) nel riassumere quel percorso: punto di arrivo e di partenza al tempo stesso, perchè il viaggio ha saputo esplorare a mente aperta e focalizzare una propria forza espressiva.

Da quella che potrebbe definirsi una vera e propria “comune musicale” frequentata da decine di persone che si ritrovavano in ambienti vari, polverosi e fumosi per il solo gusto di stare insieme e insieme suonare interminabili improvvisazioni al di fuori dell’ortodossia musicale, nasce l’embrione che sarebbe diventato minDance.

Quattro, tra i tanti,provano a strutturare quegli incontri musicali senza snaturarne l’essenza evocativa fatta di psichedelia,dark e prog.

“GMST” (Guido Squilletti,Massimo Cosimi,Salvatore Cocca,Tonino Marchitelli) è l’acronimo del primissimo periodo, tra gli anni 2012 – 2014, che diventerà in breve minDance e che avra’ il tempo di farsi conoscere con qualche live e la partecipazione al festival Rocka in Musica prima che il gruppo si divida.

Dalla scissione Massimo e Tonino,credendo nel progetto e conservando il nome, incontrano Gianluca Vergalito, che abbraccia l’idea e in trio si esibiranno nel 2015 al 1^ Maggio Libertine.

Ci vorrà circa un anno,e siamo alla fine del 2015, quando al trio si aggiungerà finalmente Peppe Aloisi ed allora sarà finalmente strutturato il gruppo che inizierà una produzione che li contraddistinguerà nel panorama musicale regionale e apprezzata nelle varie esibizioni live culminata con la partecipazione delle due edizioni del festival prog “Impressioni di

Settembre”, tenutesi a Campobasso nel 2018 e 2019.

Il nuovo sound è la migliore sintesi di 4 diverse anime che fondono esperienzejazz, psichedeliche, elettroniche,dark e prog in un risultato originale e raro nel panorama musicale italiano.

“We could define MINDANCE as the Hawkwind of Molise (with Pinkfloydian echoes…), tracing coordinates of prog-psychedelia and space-rock, a reference of depth, also important because it is not very popular in Italy. But there is also more in the band from Campobasso, a heterogeneous background and a path that is also originality and the stratification of different sounds in search of its own identity. “Cosmically nothing” is the best (and visionary) manifesto in summing up that path: point of arrival and departure at the same time, because the journey has been able to explore with open mind and focus its own expressive force.

From what could be defined as a real “musical commune” frequented by dozens of people who found themselves in various environments, dusty and smoky just for the sake of being together and playing interminable improvisations outside of musical orthodoxy, the embryo that would become minDance. Four, among many, try to structure those musical encounters without distorting their evocative essence made of psychedelia, dark and prog. “GMST” (Guido Squilletti, Massimo Cosimi,Salvatore Cocca, Tonino Marchitelli)is the acronym of the very first period, between the years 2012 – 2014, which will soon become minDance and which will have time to make itself known with some live shows and participation in the Rocka in Musica festival before the group splits. From the split Massimo and Tonino, believing in the project and keeping the name, they meet Gianluca Vergalito, who embraces the idea and in trio they will perform in 2015 on May 1st Libertine. It will take about a year, and we are at the end of 2015, when Peppe Aloisi will finally be added to the trio and then the group will finally be structured and will start a production that will distinguish them in the regional music scene and appreciated in the various live performances culminating with the participation of the two editions of the prog festival “Impressioni di September “, held in Campobasso in 2018 and 2019.

The new sound is the best synthesis of 4 different souls that blend jazz, psychedelic, electronic, dark and prog experiences in an original and rare result in the Italian music scene.
